Amy Speropoulos

Development and Communications Manager, the Salvation Army of Memphis and the Mid-south

Amy is an award-winning journalist who graduated from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Her career started before graduation as the morning anchor for WCFT. From there she worked her way through Alabama, making stops in Montgomery where she was a political reporter and evening anchor for their local ABC affiliate. In 1999, she was hired at WREG News Channel 3 in Memphis. What was supposed to be a stop on the map in her career turned out to be home. Amy met her husband at the “station on the river,” and went on to have a successful career with all 4 TV stations in Memphis including WREG, WMC-TV Actions News 5, ABC24, and FOX13 Memphis, which is rare in one television market. After 30 years in television News, she “retired” and is now working as the Development and Communications Manager for the Salvation Army of Memphis and the Mid-South.

She is most proud of her relationship with Jesus, her family and her time dedicated to helping others battling addiction. She recently celebrated 11 years of sobriety and is quick to give God the glory for everything in her life including her recovery. Amy and her husband live in Collierville where they are raising their three girls and rescue dogs. They have been members of Hope Church for 18 years and are proud to call Hope their “home.”
